MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is making effort to restrain food price inflation delicately and to avoid supply and demand imbalance, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The process is really delicate. And the government is making every effort to fulfil (President Vladimir Putin’s) order to prevent any imbalances in food production chains from the point of view of both producers and retailers,” he said.
Earlier in March, the government prolonged the price stabilization agreement for sunflower oil until October 1 and for sugar until June 1.
The Agriculture Ministry said in a statement that it does not expect significant fluctuations of prices for dairy products in Russia in 2021.
“Considering the stable situation on the dairy market, the Agriculture Ministry does not expect considerable fluctuations of dairy products prices in 2021,” the ministry said, adding that the dynamics of prices for such products were close to inflation in 2020.
